Horsing around

This past weekend I was at Mill Street Stables [1] shooting an event.  I’ll be posting pictures from that event soon, but in the meant time I took another shot at watercolor painting using one of the images I captured on Sunday.

This one, I feel, turned out better than my last attempt.  I’m feeling that I’m becoming rather comfortable with the media finally (he says after only 2 tries…).

I like the feeling I get from devoting my mind to work like this.  The problem is that I easily lose time without realizing it.  This work went on for 3 hours or so, and when I looked up it was well past midnight.  This was fine as an art student, not so fine as a working father of 2…. But, again, it felt good. 🙂

I know what you mean about losing time while doing art. Sometimes I will sit at a drawing for a few moments only to realize that two or three hours have passed! Thank goodness for my kids, or otherwise I think I’d spend the whole day just lost in my own little world.

Nice man! I think I’d go insane if I didn’t draw. I went for a long tine not drawing but I’m so glad i started again in 2005. It’s gotta be the best therapy there is.
