Tom’s Day Off – Part 2
In part 1, I was out and about on a day off without a plan. In this part I did have a plan!
This means nothing of course, because, and I want to be clear here, I have no idea what I’m doing most of the time. Yes, my ignorance of process is as good a wild card as just hopping in the car and driving in random directions. It is the fun bit of uncertainty that I think is the spice of life for my friends and family! 🙂
My plan was to do light painting, but of a different sort from last time where in myself and a few associates used a very dark space to draw pictures with flashlights. This time I would be shooting a still life subject, but in a dark room, adding light to it as needed at various angles and distances, while altering exposure time and camera settings.
I took many more images than what you see here, but this was the gist of the idea. The others differ from these in how the light was used, from what angle and distance, to how long an exposure may have been.
I may, time allowing, string them together in a video. Flipping through them quickly shows me that that idea has potential.
By the end of this experiment, something started to happen… which I’ll cover in my next post.
