Mobile Software Developer

Lead / senior and entry level Software Developers support all of our development activities in our Mobile LBS (Location Based Services) applications. Developers are responsible for the full software development life cycle to architect, design, and deliver dynamic web and client/server applications. Position requires strong problem solving skills, excellent coding & debugging skills, a proven track record of delivering solid solutions, and a passion for learning new technologies and writing good code. Must have the ability to work independently and research innovative solutions. Needs to support multiple concurrent projects and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Experience in mobile or e-commerce is a plus.Roles & Responsibilities

  • Build enterprise-class client/server applications that power our mobile and internet offerings
  • Collaborate with web and mobile development teams on multiple initiatives requiring performance tuning, mobile/web integration and architecture designs and reviews
  • Design and development of server-side components for networked applications.
  • Porting, integration, updating, and maintenance of existing mobile applications.
  • Design and development of core engineering features, libraries, engines, and components for platform-independent mobile applications.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Solid in-depth knowledge and background developing and designing data-driven distributed web-applications, using Java, JSP, and SQL (especially Oracle). using J2EE (JDBC, JNI, EJB, JSP, XML, JMS SOAP), SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access
  • MUST have experience in at least one mobile programming language: J2ME, MIDP 2.0, CLDC 1.1, BREW, C,C++, Blackberry, Windows Mobile 5.0 and/or Symbian
  • Required knowledge of mobile foot print and application architecture
  • Experience with WAP 2.0, XHTML, WML
  • Strong Object Oriented programming expertise, particularly in C++/ and/or Java (You must be hands on with the code and rigorous about coding and architecture change to make the code better – meaning well designed, and above all, readable code in ANY language)
  • Strong understanding of the server side software, scalability, performance and reliability aspects, specifically: experience with application servers such as JBoss, Weblogic and Web servers such as TOMCAT and, particularly Apache
  • A strong background in Unix, particularly RedHat/Linux
  • Experienced with Java, JavaScript, C++, VBscript, Visual basic 6.0, XML, XSL and DHTML
  • Experience developing complicated applications through all phases of development, design, prototype, implementation, deployment, and re-use
  • Ability to write bug-free code on aggressive schedules and take responsibility to resolve production urgent bugs and other production issues
  • Application and system performance, threading issues, bottleneck identification
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent

Web Application Developer:

The Web Application Developer will serve as the primary web development resource at Smarter Agent to architect, design, and deliver web applications. Responsibilities include accountability, leadership, planning, design, coordination and hands on development for all new web application development initiatives. Experience in mobile or e-commerce is a plus.Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for SDLC in leading the analysis, design, development, and implementation of IT solutions
  • Clarifies business requirements, translate requirements into designs, and estimates project schedules. Owns responsibility for technical design, db design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of web applications.
  • Stays current in technology and researches technical tools for the development of current and future programs.
  • Available 24/7 to respond to technical issues affecting web application development and systems maintenance.

  • Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university and minimum of seven years related experience.
  • Proven experience with J2EE and Oracle. Strong expertise in Web Services, SQL and Stored Procedures.

  • 5+ years of strong experience with relational databases (Microsoft SQL strongly preferred)
  • 3+ Years developing commercial websites using Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP i.e. LAMP/LAPP environments

  • Extremely competent Content Management System Architect with understanding of Object Oriented Programming
  • Candidate should be comfortable using and creating web API's. Candidates should have expert understanding of Web Standards (HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, XSL, JavaScript, Web Services, RSS) and cross browser and cross platform issues and how to develop systems that work across these various browsers and platforms.
  • Understanding of SEO issues and how to develop web systems with the optimum SEO setup.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, schedules, and multiple facets of operation.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Unix/Linux, Apache, server administration knowledge a major plus
  • Experience in mobile or e-commerce a plus.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as an evangelist for our mobile applications and have a passion for our business
  • Responsible for attaining revenue quotas by selling advertising in our applications
  • Builds a business plan for each named account by identifying key major selling opportunities; establishing specific strategy, tactics and actions necessary to execute strategy, including key customer decisions makers and influencers

Database Developer:

The Database Developer will serve as the primary database development resource at Smarter Agent to architect, design, deliver, and maintain our mobile applications. This position has full responsibility for creating environments that interface with external data sources for data retrieval and processing. You will work independently to research and implement innovative solutions to improve overall system performance. The environment is fast-paced, deadline driven, while supporting multiple, concurrent projects. Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop solutions to import data sets offered by our partners databases for use by Smarter Agent mobile devices and websites
  • Develop and implement complex and automated Data Transformation procedures and processes
  • Collaborate with web and mobile development teams on multiple and concurrent initiatives requiring performance tuning, mobile/web integration, and architecture designs and reviews
  • Building multi-terabyte, high availability databases with emphasis on data massaging and translation
  • Develop and implement complex data models, queries, and stored procedures
  • Translate business requirements into database design

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilites

  • Expert in database design, database performance, and data architecture methodologies
  • High proficiency in Oracle 9i/10g from an application development perspective and MUST have experience in database performance tuning
  • High level of proficiency in SQL/PLSQL
  • Proficiency in Oracle database application development tools like TOAD, SQL Navigator, Enterprise Manager etc
  • Analyze, design, build, test and implement extracts, transforms and loads (i.e. the facilitation of data movement across platforms) utilizing Stored Procedures or an ETL Tool. Oversee ETL processes against high-volume data sources
  • Proficiency with Java Development.
  • Extensive experience developing, building and implementing custom, complex and automated data transformation tools, processes and technologies
  • Proficient in developing and implementing complex data models, queries, and stored procedures
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into database design

This position is for a business/data analyst who will work on mapping real estate data from multiple sources into a standard format.
Responsibilities can include data sourcing analysis, data mapping, documenting requirements, setting up recurring data downloads and testing. Skills Required:

  • Experience analyzing large data sets
  • Understands the business issues related to data integration.
  • Experience writing business requirements
  • Understanding (Not proficiency) in the areas of application programming, database and system design.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal people to analyze information needs and functional requirements.

Project Manager:

The Project Manager holds a pivotal position on the Smarter Agent team as the owner of the overall IT/development project plan. Reporting to the President/CTO, he/she will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the overall development and implementation project plans.

  • Responsible for end-to-end project tracking for mobile real estate application development covering multiple product launches across multiple carriers

  • Work with the CTO and development team to communicate project timelines, identify project bottlenecks/dependencies and help ensure timely task completion

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 7 plus years of project management skills utilizing Microsoft Project. PMP certification a plus

A contributing member of our marketing team responsible for doing business analysis, creating marketing collateral and sales tools.
